X14CrMoS17 introduction :
X14CrMoS17 is a kind of stainless steel used in a variety of aircraft parts .X14CrMoS17 is also named ferritic Stainless Steel .The machinability of X14CrMoS17 is far superior to that of the ferritic 17% chromium steel, X14CrMoS17 as a result of the controlled sulphur addition to this grade of steel. The addition of sulphur however reduces the resistance to corrosion, and as such X14CrMoS17 is significantly more resistant to corrosion than X14CrMoS17, despite their similar chromium contents. It should ben noted that as a result of the sulphur addition, neither minimum impact properties, nor elevated temperature properties are specified .
